Understanding the world we live in only takes place when we interpret the information that comes through our senses.
However, we as human beings and as artists are not limited to mere replication of that which already exists. A new world can be born when we create the new, not as it is through sight and sound. This is not an easy process; to remove yourself from the material world, to see again without your eyes. You would probably pass by chaos and destruction through the process of creating new things, but you could also discover joy and delight, a vision never before seen on this earth.
In my work, I try to reconstitute colors and forms that reflect inner sentiments and emotions in order to create new images.
Leaving a wide margin in a simple screen provides a respite to the tired eyes of people living a complex, modern life.
The simple and empty spaces in some of my work allows for the viewer to project their own feelings and creative forces to the piece.
To me, the flower always means life.
It is beautiful and fragile.
But it also implies an existence that can conceive of hope and a promise of life renewed.
It is visually delightful and has the divine beauty of eternity.
Thus, the flower blooms plentifully in my canvas to symbolize hope and promise.
Another recurring motif in my work is the sense of struggle and loss, and a longing for finding one's way back home. This is part of the human condition, this desire to overcome deep despair when we seem to feel lost. We all are nomads in life, struggling to find the right path for ourselves.
Most frequently I paint the sky; it is a space where we can find peace, it is a space for our soul, it is a space for our hope.
I am thankful that I can express and share the dark, painful wounds of my soul through my work and I continue to endeavor to visualize the invisible beauty of eternity.
I try to work with the guiding light of hope and warmth which keeps our life as a whole.
At the very least, I can share a joyous moment, even though I don't have any power to lead and create life.
